What are cookies
Small text files the browser stores for the site that set them. They can be strictly necessary (functional), assimilable to technical (anonymous self-hosted analytics in EU) or optional (advertising, profiling). On this section there are no optional cookies: only technical cookies and Matomo analytics treated as technical, on the basis of the Data Controller's legitimate interest.
Technical cookies (always on)
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Origin |
|---|---|---|---|
tools_lang | Stores language preference (it/en) | 180 days | First-party |
tools_banner_ack | Marks that the information banner has been displayed | 180 days | First-party |
PHPSESSID | PHP session, only on auth-gated areas | Session | First-party |
Analytics cookies (assimilated to technical)
Matomo self-hosted on www.mfcdn.eu, server owned by the Data Controller in the EU, sets _pk_id.* (anonymized visitor ID, TTL 365 days) and _pk_ses.* (session) cookies. IP anonymized. Treated as cookies assimilable to technical ones under the Italian Data Protection Authority guidelines of 8 July 2021. Opt-out available on this page.
Matomo analytics opt-out
Matomo is active by default on the basis of the Data Controller's legitimate interest, with anonymized IP and owned server in the EU (configuration treated as a technical cookie). You may exercise opt-out at any time from Matomo's dedicated page (link below): one click sets a technical cookie of exclusion from tracking, valid until you clear it from your browser.
